Hey, I’m Cassey. I’m a junior in high school, well, almost a senior, and I play many instruments. The first instrument I picked up was the flute and I’ve been playing it since fifth grade. Next I picked up the guitar; I don’t really remember what year though, haha. Then about a year and a half ago, I started playing the drums. Amazing =). Last summer I learned how to play the electric bass. That’s pretty fun, although guitar is the best. Then most recently I have learned the basics of keyboard. That’s fun but it’s harder than anything else I’ve tried to teach myself. This summer I am getting a trumpet and learning that. So excited for that. I think you can tell that music is my passion; I plan to study it in college and pursue music when I grow up, at least that’s what I think; It can always change. My favorite song is “Get Caught” by John McKiel. It just makes me think.

                I do a lot more than music though. In the winter I love to snowboard. I started in eighth grade because my friend wanted to start but she didn’t want to learn alone so I learned with her. She quit that year and I have loved it since the first time I went up on the mountain and it’s my passion in the winter. Another thing I love to do is photography; not generally of people, but nature. The best thing to do is just to take pictures, while you are just walking down the street or something, of your surroundings; they tend to come out the best because you are not really focused on getting the “perfect” picture.

                I also love to draw. I am creative enough to come up with my own stuff but I love pencil sketching photography of another human being. In school, I am in so many activities. I am in concert band on bass, concert choir on voice, Jazz band on flute and drums, and two rock and blues bands on guitar and vocals. I am also involved in Student Council, the best around, we got a prize for it =). And I got inducted into National Honors Society (NHS) recently this year. I am also involved in the Drama Club. The winter play I stage-managed but the spring play I acted, which was a great experience.  One new thing that is coming to my school is the Color Guard team, which is the flag and rifle and sabre auxiliary spinning and choreography. I plan on joining this too because it sounds like so much fun.   

                My friends mean so much to me. I don’t know what I’d do if it wasn’t for them; I’d probably be crazy, like an old crazy lady, not even joking. And my family <3 Love them to death even though sometimes it isn’t always great between us. I love you and I hope you know that.
