Due to my inactivity, it seems that this group has died... of course, it was never very much alive. This kind of makes me feel bad, hopefully in the near future we can kind of pick things back up. If anyone has any suggestions on what we should do with this group, please leave a post.
Thanks

I probably can't get him in. We haven't talked in a while, so I don't know what he's been doing lately, probably has something to do with animation.
I'd be more than happy to keep contributing if things pick up. I personally think if we have an animator's group, we'll need at least a few 3d artists like myself. I can pretty much cover anything about Blender 3D, Gimp, and some of 3ds Max (and how to get that to Blender), as well as MakeHuman. All free open source programs with high-end capabilities (plus, they're FREE).
Maybe you could get an external site linked to this group where fellow animators can post their work and not have to go and deal with posting their work on mainstream galleries like Blender Artists, etc. It could be a feeback/critique for those learning/just starting with animation. And all animators can give their input regardless of what program they use....animation is universal.
One more thing, F4Zero, get your friend who's into 3D animation to join this page/group as well, especially since he wants to make it in the industry/as a career, this could be pretty useful for him.
Let me know if you're gonna keep things going..........
I'd like to do some stuff to get this group active. Just not sure what.
I've been working on copying old looney tunes and MGM cartoons for the sake of studying them... but copying from the pc is annoying. I wanna get some art books of maybe like jones or clampett. Definitely Ralph Bakshi's art book, it looks awesome.
One thing that I do suggest... TVpaint is the best animation program ever. Give it a try. It's cheaper than flash and toonboom, if I'm not mistaken.
I gues that's it for now but I'll be sure to try to be more active here.
