There are lots of great ways to learn 3D animation including great tutorials all over the internet. If you want to get a good grasp of what it is like to create these animations I suggest you download blender 3D from www.blender.org. It is free and has a ton of great tutorials to start you off right. If you feel like you are ready to jump right into it I personally recommend purchasing Lightwave 3D from a student resource website. It sells for about $200 with proof of high school or college enrollment which is a steal considering it is the same version of the software that retails for around $1000 dollars.
