"Earth's crammed with heaven,
And every common bush afire with God;
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes -
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.”
--- Elizabeth Barrett Browning
My English teacher showed my class this excerpt from one of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poems. I didn't like it at first, but slowly I grew to appreciate it. I was given the assignment to do something creative with the poem - anything. Now, as I embark on my scholarship project, I look at this poem and say - why not? I took the poem my teacher gave us an assignment on and made it into a small video, and I want to edit the video a bit and submit it to this scholarship contest. It took me over four hours to film all the footage, as well as another sixteen hours of work to edit the video clips while adding in music that fit the storyline. I believe that my video shows my perspective of what Browning meant and what I found in my small hometown in Florida. I know that I truly found "heaven" here on earth through this project, and I hope others see the beauty and majesty of the earth through my presentation. :)
Good morning, good evening, and good night!
