Newbie here. Still don't know how this works, but that's okay. There's always time.
Last night I was watching "V," the show about the "visitors" that are "peaceful." It looked good, but it's too predictable. As a big science fiction fan as well as being a person with a BRAIN, you have to wonder some things:
If an alien species were to run out of fuel, one that is specific to YOUR PLANET that is a tiny spec on the side of a dandelion in the universe inside a univese, what are the chances? Besides, why would they need to have a mineral to fuel their ships? Hell, I'll even throw it out there at the risk of looking like a dork: antimater.
Even slimmer the chances are that these aliens would be in huminoid form. C'mon. We're as diverse as the insects in the rainforest of the universe. Human form? Red flag. Besides, everyone was amazingly beautiful. There was little to no diversity, or the passing down of bad genes during the forming of the gametes.
Right away, these aliens knew the slang and lingo of each country. Really? if a person 2000 years ago came to our time, they wouldn't know the speak right away. Language interferance.
And out of so many things: Manifest destiny. As sad as it is, even America is guilty of this, the people with the bigger tech. and more advanced and 'civilized' then the one will always spread their propiganda and./or try to control the other. It's the way we roll.
Eh. Gotta finish "War of the World."
Scholarship contest. I'm also ready a Kathy Reichs book right now too. "Deja Dead."
Wow. Morbid. I gotta get out more.
