To get started, JOIN THIS GROUP. Then click on the Activities tab. Next complete each of the Activities. And finally compete in the Challenge Activity

Giant Campus Create a Visual Hoax Contest

Description

Amaze your friends and stun the general public with a visual hoax that puts the supermarket tabloids to shame! Using Gimp, the world’s most popular open-source image manipulation software, combine two or more of your digital images to create a 500 foot tall dog, a boy with two heads, or … you get the picture! Here's your opportunity to learn new graphics skills and win awesome prizes from Giant Campus.

Basic Steps

The process is simple:

Attend the Freshbrain Summer Technology Camp and complete the Digital Graphics Lab learning path
Look for images on the web or use your own. Using the skills you learned in the Digital Graphics Lab, combine your images into a stunning visual hoax.
Export your completed work in a standard format--that is; jpg, png, gif, or tiff.
Upload and submit your graphic to the contest on this page by clicking the "Submit" button.

Rules

Here is a summary.

Must be US resident age 13-18 to participate
Must have completed the "Digital Graphics Lab" learning path
Design must be of your own creation.
Standard image formats only (jpeg, gif, png, tiff)
Submit between 6/15/09 and 11:59 pm Pacific Time on 8/18/09.
Enter as many times as you would like

Three winners will be selected. See the official rules for additional information.

First prize - 1 week tuition at a Giant Campus Online Tech Camp, any time within 12 months of winning, plus $100 gift certificate at Amazon.com (total value of over $200)
Second prize - 1 week tuition at a Giant Campus Online Tech Camp, any time within 12 months of winning, plus $50 gift certificate at Amazon.com (total value of over $150)
Third prize - 1 week tuition at a Giant Campus Online Tech Camp, any time within 12 months of winning (total value of over $100)
