There are lots of ways to go with your website.  These instructions will help you to decide which tools are right for you as you build a basic website.

1. First thing you need to do is decide which kind of website you want to create.
   • A blog.
   • A basic website - including text, pictures, a blog, etc.
   • A social networking website - with friends, text, pictures, blog, discussions, etc.
2. Decide what you will call your website (your URL)
   
   • Note that many of the tools will constrain your choice by allowing you to only decide on part of the website URL. For example, a blog created on blogger.com will be of the form "yourname".blogger.com.
3. Pick the right website tool.
   • See the Suggested Tools list below. 
   • Go to their website and watch videos on how to create the site using the tool you selected.
     
4. Design your website.
   • Decide on the layout of your website.
   • Determine how many pages you will have.
   • Come up with the look.  Select the background.  Pick colors and fonts for titles and text.
5. Create the content.
   • Find pictures and videos that you will use (be careful not to use copyrighted pictures).
   • Write your text.
6. Create your website.
   • Follow the design.
   • Add and link pages.
     
7. Publish
   • In most cases, this is just a button that you click from the tool you selected.
